As Falls Gideon, So Falls Gideon Falls

Gideon Falls Marks Jeff Lemire's First Foray Into Scaring The Sh*$ Out Of Us.

Gideon Falls Jeff Lemire

Gideon Falls reunites one of the best creative teams of the last several years in writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino. This is the first foray for Lemire into the realm of horror and there’s much it looks like to get excited about. Now, for those of you who fell in love with Lemire’s team book over on the edges of the DC Multiverse in The Terrifics, this is NOT going to be that kind of story. And isn’t that what makes him one of the most sought after and prolific creators in comics today? His versatility. Lemire has thrilled us, left us in awe, made us ponder questions about humanity, community, family, and now he’s looking to make us soil our shorts.

Fortunately, his creator from their epic and widely revered Green Arrow run is onboard Gideon Falls. I first fell in lust with Andrea Sorrentino’s art with the criminally under read I, Vampire, and for those twelve or so of you who have read it, you know this artist is capable of genuine chills. Sorrentino’s atmospheric background punctuated with demonic facial expressions will be provide a lot of tools for Lemire’s character-driven approach to stories. Now, okay, let’s get into what we’re, you know, getting into…

Two men! One city. A washed-up Catholic priest arrives in a small town. So far, follows the horror trope. The small town is not as it seems with dark and impenetrable secrets. Apparently, there’s a legend surrounding something called The Black Barn, an otherworldly building that is not only in this small town but in a blustering city. This is the same city where a conspiracy theorist believes the answers to the mysteries he’s obsessed with are in the city’s trash! The Black Barn is fabled to bring death and madness to those near it. Who will prove to be crazy? Who will be misplacing their faith? And what terrors will we experience as we follow them? Find out in Gideon Falls #1 out this Wednesday, March 7th.
