GOREMET

The year is 1386. A group of wizards called “The Ancient Order” place a curse on a guy named Goza. Cut to 1986. Goza is now the proprietor of Goza’s Deli & Beach Club, which is a front for chopping off people’s body parts and eating them. Goza also enjoys dance parties with nude women, as long as they’re dancing to a rip-off of ELO’s “Don’t Bring Me Down.” At one point, Goza screams, “DON’T CHASTISE ME!” to someone, which leads to a showdown with The Ancient Order in a suburban park. There are hooded sweatshirts and invisible force fields. Goza may survive the ordeal, but will he survive the final showdown with a priestess who looks like Pat Benatar? GOREMET ZOMBIE CHEF FROM HELL reeks of weed, Doritos, and old Reebok high-tops in the best of ways. It was made by adults on Super 8, but most likely influenced by ninth-graders playing Dungeons & Dragons while watching EVIL DEAD. Plus it’s only 67 minutes. Bonus! (Joseph A. Ziemba)

Tickets only $1! Hosted by Matt Desiderio and Mike Hunchback of Horror Boobs.

Bring your tapes! Tapes for trade and sale courtesy of Horror Boobs.

About Matt Desiderio 264 Articles
Matt D has been a manager, buyer and event coordinator at Forbidden Planet since 2005 or maybe it was 2006. Who can remember? We didn't even have computers back then. A native New Yorker from the borough of Queens, raised on Sunday Funnies, Monster Movies and Rock N' Roll. What better place to end up than Forbidden Planet where he can use his position to influence the city's pop culture. A responsibility he takes seriously more now than ever due to New York's consistent change for the worse. The last thing NYC needs is another cafe or bank so thank whatever it is you believe in that Forbidden Planet is here to stay. Beyond the walls of FP, Matt is a publicly recognized expert in cult and horror cinema with a focus on VHS. He is the founder of Horror Boobs a collective that books screenings and distributes weirdo films, the producer of the documentary Adjust Your Tracking: The Untold Story of the VHS collector, the publisher of the Blood Video zine, and is regrettably responsible for resurrecting the career of schizophrenic Shot-on Video director Carl J Sukenick.
