I thought I’d check out what all the hubbub was about regarding this title as it got past me upon its release a few weeks ago. Glad I finally caught up to it.
I divide my attention among thousands of book and comic titles per day, and while some bleeps, sweeps, and/or creeps (see: Spaceballs) fall off my radar now and then I have NO idea how I missed Officer Downe until now. I’d drop anything for comics written by Joe Casey (see: Iron Mean Enter The Mandarin, among many). Joining him on Officer Downe is Chris Burnham, his artist collaborator on the similarly ultraviolent cool Nixon’s Pals.
More messed up than an old lady’s makeup. Picture Frank Miller and Geoff Darrow’s Hard Boiled but with an actual story and decent dialogue. Good stuff.
