Val’s Toy Chest- DC Drops Some Bombshells

DC Comics has been releasing their Bombshells line of statues for the past few years which has spawned all kinds of merchandise, from POP vinyls to wallets, pins, belts and even socks! Collecting the Bombshells statue line isn’t for everyone as certain ones can run anywhere from $150-$250 each, so earlier this year, DC Collectibles started releasing action figures of the Bombshells designs.  DC has four brand new characters joining the line this week with the release of Batgirl, Hawkgirl, Katana and Mera. Each figure will be based on the art of Ant Lucia and feature several points of articulation and accessories where appropriate. Fans who want to start the line can also find the Series 1 DC Bombshells Wonder Woman figure still available on our shelves. Future figures include Bumblebee, Supergirl, Black Canary and Zatanna.

Star Wars fans have even more to look forward to this week as we receive a restock on Star Wars Black Series 12 as well as our first shipments of Series 13. To refresh your memory- Series 12 features The Last Jedi Rey and Kylo Ren, Force Awakens Luke, Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, Rebels Hera Syndulla and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Series 13  has Maz Kanata, Force Awakens Leia, The Elite Praetorian Guard, Finn and Poe Dameron from The Last Jedi and the AT-AT Driver. There’s still plenty of Star Wars Black in store including Lando, Han Solo, R2-D2, C-3PO and the Emperor’s Royal Guard. So if you need a Star Wars figure fix, come on down!

Not into DC or Star Wars? How about a David Bowie figure? Or Bruce Campbell? We’ve got both in the house right now. Bowie’s figure is based on his character: Jareth the Goblin King from 80’s classic, Labyrinth while Bruce Campbell’s figure is from the recent Starz TV series Ash Vs Evil Dead.  Jareth comes from McFarlane Toys while Ash is from NECA. Ash is fully articulated and comes with show accurate accessories, while Jareth has some articulation, a figure stand as well as a mask. Both figures feature authentic likenesses.

Briefly:

Hellboy POPs are starting to arrive, so far we have Rasputin and Nimue The Queen of Blood, the rest of the series should be arriving soon.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, the recent Specialty Series POP of classic baddie Leatherhead has arrived. This one is a gorgeous piece and should make any Turtle fan happy.

Funko has announced a series of Disney Afternoon action figures including Scrooge McDuck, Darkwing Duck, Chip and Dale and Baloo with looks from their 80s and 90s cartoon series. These figures look really neat.

Diamond Comics has teamed up with Funko and DC to bring us a couple of exclusive POPs, firstly there’s Lobo who will arrive in regular and bloody versions as well as a two-pack of the JLI’s Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, the pair will come in regular and metallic versions.

Anyway- that’s all folks! See you soon!
