All-New All-Different X-Factor X-PLAINED

One of the underrated greats comes back into print!

X-Factor

Once again the utter complications of the lives (and publishing history) of Marvel’s merry mutants bring us back here. Another gem has emerged from the vault and come back into print. And it is my civic duty as a dyed-in-the-wool fan of the X-line to encourage you to buy it. Brace yourself, for the time has come to X-plain… All-New, All-Different X-Factor.

X-FACTOR!
Rooted as the eternal B-team of the X-line, X-Factor’s original incarnation was as a reteaming of the original five X-Men after all that pesky “being dead” kept them apart for so long. As I always feel obligated to point out, they rejoined under the guise of being a mutant hate group, spreading propaganda and finding rogue mutants, only to take them under their care. Somehow, spreading
hate speech about your own people backfired and this version of X-Factor disbanded. Missing not a single beat, the team changed shape.

THE GOVERNMENT
In stepped the government organization O*N*E, which is very vague and definitely stands for something all right. Overseen by Frequent Incompetent Val Cooper, hey put together a new mutant team, comprised of precisely three B-listers, a C-lister, and two D-listers. And it’s excellent.

THE TEAM
-Havok. The Other Summers Brother, who can shoot all sorts of beams out of all sorts of places and has a very silly hat.
-Quicksilver. The Other Child of Magneto. Super speed. Super jerk.
-Polaris. The Other Other Child of Magneto. Does magnets real good.
-Wolfsbane. Scottish werewolf New Mutant, X-Forcer, and haver of morals.
-Multiple Man. Makes copies of himself. Did lab stuff for a while. Does dumb stuff the rest of the time.
-Strong Guy. The more hits he takes, the stronger he gets, the smaller his head gets in proportion to his body.

THE EPIC COLLECTION
Finally we come to the reason for our being here: a brand new collection of the first big chunk of this amazing series. Get yourself this stellar book from Marvel’s always amazing Epic Collection line of books. Peter David’s X-Factor truly lives up to the hype that I’ve just laid down on it.
