Bloodshot Salvation Jeff Lemire Valiant Comics

Valiant Entertainment is coming out swinging with a new blockbuster ongoing series: Bloodshot Salvation #1 arrives this New Comic Book Day. New York Times best-selling writer Jeff Lemire and supernaturally impressive artists Lewis LaRosa and Mico Suayan tackle a bloody and vengeful era for the Valiant Universe’s super soldier. With the recent success of their relaunched X-O Manowar, this is the next iconic member of the Valiant pantheon to welcome a fresh direction for casual and new readers. Plus, did I mention it’s Jeff Lemire doing tackling a badass vigilante?

Bloodshot, reconciling his identity as Ray Garrison thought he escaped his violent past to build the one thing he’d finally earned: a family. But when his true love’s past threatens their fragile peace, Bloodshot will be forced to bring out the big guns and hand a horrifying case of the in-laws. There will be casualties in this war at home, as hinted by the narrative structure Mr. Lemire has crafted.

The present: With his true love Magic (yup, love’s a magical thing y’all!) Bloodshot thinks he has finally earned some hope for his future as Magic is carrying their first born. But Magic’s estranged family of homegrown criminals comes to reclaim their lost daughter. To protect their soon-to-be family’s future, Bloodshot will be put to the test of madness, mayhem, and warfare.

In the near future: Bloodshot’s daughter has inherited her father’s unstoppable abilities. She’s being hunted by a high-tech kill squad known as Omen. Jessie, the prodigal daughter, must now learn how to use her powers in order to survive a world being engulfed by darkness.

Basically, it’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day with a splash of Get Out. As scribed by one of the most impressive voices in comics. What the frak are you waiting for to check this book out?
