Weapon H Rages Into New Series

Weapon H Marvel Comics

Wolverine and Hulk made a baby. Okay, not really but kinda.  He’s actually a product of the Weapon X program. Except this new weapon, the ultimate hybrid of the two heroes is called Weapon H. However, Weapon H does have both Banner and Logan’s DNA. And others yet to be disclosed (I wonder where those spikes on his body come from?). This week the monster that’s sometimes a man named Clayton is getting his very own ongoing series from two of the best Marvel creators today, Greg Pak and Cory Smith. Will this monster be deemed worth of a must-read?

Originally debuting in Totally Awesome Hulk #21, Weapon H has been a heatseeker for Hulk fans. Arguably, he’s the most exciting thing to happen to the Hulk sector of the Marvel Universe since the death of Bruce Banner (who came back this past week in Avengers #684). You have a gray-skinned, adamantium-boned, killing machine with military experience, weapons training, a conscience, kill record, and who can transform at will (most of the time). This is the ultimate upgrade for two of Marvel’s most popular characters in one massive new shiny package.

It’s been a while since Weapon H decimated the Weapon X program and brutally murdered William Stryker (nobody protested that character death, did they?) Having escaped and destroyed his creators, what’s next for this hulking and clawed individual? Well, some running because this is a Hulk-ish story. And he wants to elude his shady past because this is also a Wolverine-ish story. So, why not seclude yourself from the world? Get away for a while. Do some of those newfangled meditation exercises and maybe some of that popular yoga? Well, when a new kind of Wendigo interrupts your retreat from civilization you might have to make a choice. And, yes, the “you” I’m referring to is our titular character (hero?). Is there any humanity left in this living weapon? Find out this week!
