Val’s Toy Chest- New Aliens and Rogues Gallery Set

The past few weeks have been pretty insane here at the Planet with plenty of new product hitting the shelves. We recently received some brand new NECA items including the 12th series of their long-running Aliens line. Included in this series are a new Ripley in her bomber jacket, a brown and blue Battle Damaged Xenomorph and a brand new Vasquez, this time dressed in her fatigues. Each figure is finely sculpted as past Aliens figures have been, including authentic likenesses of actresses Sigourney Weaver and Jenette Goldstein. These figures join the also recently released series 11 figures of Lambert, Defiance Xenomorph and the Blue Alien Warrior. It’s a good time to be an Alien figure fan with these latest releases.

If you were able to make it into the store last Friday, you probably got to see the latest Star Wars Black Series. Some of the figures in this wave include a Stormtrooper, Darth Vader, an older Luke Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Kylo Ren from The Last Jedi and Rey from the Last Jedi. Tw’ilek pilot Hera Syndulla was the most sought after figure in this wave, but all of them look beautiful with some of the best sculpting I’ve seen in awhile.  I can’t wait to see what is in the next wave- though I believe the next series includes Maz Kanata and Force Awakens Leia amongst others. Speaking of Star Wars, our shipment of Luke Skywalker Hot Toys should arrive this week as well as our first batch of Suicide Squad Harley Quinn figures. I know you’ve been looking forward to these, so come on down and check em out.

DC Collectibles has been releasing figures of the cast of Batman: The Animated Series for the past few years and this week they’ve decided to give us five figures in one shot. Packaged in a huge box made to look like an armored transport, this deluxe package also lights up. Four of Batman’s wildest villains comprise the boxset as well as one lone cop to deal with their madness. Included are: Poison Ivy, Bane, Mr Freeze, Killer Croc and Officer Renee Montoya. Each figure features multiple points of articulation, as well as character specific accessories. It definitely looks like an awesome release and would make a sweet gift for the Batman fan in your life.

There’s definitely more stuff in the pipeline including Funko POPs, more Hot Toys and definitely a healthy helping of Star Wars figures all coming in the next few weeks. That’s all for me this time- see you soon!
