A JOURNALIST GETS TO THE DEADLY TRUTH IN ABBOTT

A gripping, throwback tale of journalism's power to stop evil.

There was a time when reporters were all the rage. You couldn’t throw a stone without hitting a movie or TV show detailing the hard-fought life of an intrepid reporter. Pounding the pavement, digging for truth, these hard-boiled heroes got their answers and took down corruption. They were heroes. But as journalism changed, so did our romanticism of the journalist. Years after All The President’s Men, it seemed the only bastion of reporters-as-heroes were superhero comics. Those days are behind us. ABBOTT aims to take us back.

Elena Abbott is the best reporter there is. There’s nowhere she wouldn’t go and nothing she wouldn’t do to get to the answers others overlook. Abbott is respected. She is feared. She is damn good.

While investigating a series of grisly murders the police have ignored, Abbott stumbles into a whole other world within her own. A world of light against darkness, chaos versus control. There are monsters in her city, and Abbott is the only one who can get to the bottom of it.

Abbott Cover

ABBOTT comes to us courtesy of the crackerjack team of Saladin Ahmed (Black Bolt, Exiles) and Sami Kivela (Beautiful Canvas, Chum). Ahmed is one of Marvel’s best new voices, turning the likes of Black Bolt and Quicksilver into heartbreaking heroes at the center of a tremendous journey. Kivela can craft the beautiful and the unsettling, rending the lightness of being and the creatures of the dark with skill.

All five issues of ABBOTT are now available in a nice trade paperback. Devour this dark, intriguing series as it was meant to be done: under the covers with a flashlight.
