Here comes Daredevil #600! That’s right True Believers, this week Ol’ Hornhead has himself a landmark anniversary issue on the heels of a special milestone by Spidey. Gosh, can you believe there’s already been six hundred stories under the blind hero’s billy club? That kind of feat isn’t for the ordinary, that’s for the extraordinary! I bet even Matt Murdoch’s super senses can’t have prepared him for that kind of longevity, through all the trials and moments of levity. This week the titular hero has one mission: Take down the Mayor of New York City, Wilson Fisk (you know, that traditionally evil nemesis known better to you readers as the Kingpin!). Except there’s no chance in Hell’s Kitchen that even someone like the Man Without Fear can handle this threat alone.
ROLL CALL: Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Misty Knight, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Echo, and, yes, Iron Fist! Together, Daredevil is determined for these heroes who protect the heartbeat of New York to defend the city from the tyranny of Mayor Fisk. In the wake of a six murdered cops by the insane serial killer, Muse, the mayor has found a way to manipulate theirs deaths to continue his war on the heroes. Now, they must stand together and execute a maddening plan if they have any hope to bring the city out of chaos. Even best laid plans go awry, imagine how sideways a Hail Mary of a scheme is going to turn.
Did we mention that Matt is actually the deputy mayor? He’s actually been technically working under the Kingpin! But fear not, Dear Readers, it’s all been a means to this end. Charles Soule and Ron Garney have, what they claim to be, a surprise ending that’ll have you salivating for the next six hundred stories. And there’s even more! Did I mention that this special anniversary tale is OVERSIZED? That’s right, Merry Marvelers, you’re in for more than just one helping of DD’s adventures. Excelsior!
