Livin’ On The Edge, Fighting Crime, Spinning Webs in Spectacular Spider-Man #300

Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man 300

This issue’s too hot to handle and too cold to hold! It’s the cream of the crop and the cream always rises to the top, oh yeah. Dig it! Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man #300 is here so let’s freak out freak out freak out. The Tinkerer’s been tinkin’, tinkin’ and he’s been clashing with his goody two-shoes of a brother, see, The Mason. Spidey’s been in the mix trying to keep these genius siblings from slicin’ and dicin’ all of town down to the ground. A milestone issue that promises to be an oversized anniversary epic.

Brothers fight! These two megapowers are going to explode and all we know is that Peter Parker’s the only man macho enough to snap into it and keep the peace. Chip Zdarsky’s been building up, up, and away to this tipping point since the first issue of this side Spider-Man series. This week though the title gets to take the spotlight. Of course, since Tinkerer and Mason have their own allies in this fight it looks like Ol’ Webhead is going to need a few heavy hitters to settle this score once and for all.

While things have been pretty nuts over in the pages of Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man this book’s been left feeling like the oddball out at times. Maybe with the exception of that one issue-long conversation between Peter and J. Jonah Jameson when the mask came off. With Marvel’s Fresh Start” only a couple months away it’s time to wonder what the fate of Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man might be. Will there be room in the Marvel Universe for two books about your Friendly Neighborhood Wallcrawler? Will Zdarksy and Kubert still be the team steering into grand adventures like this one? The only way we’ll know for sure is to see what these two crazy megamaniacs have in store for us this week.
