Comics’ Hottest Couple Gets Hitched in Mr. & Mrs. X

The It Couple slide their way into a stunning new romcom.

Mr. & Mrs. X #2

After five years spent lost in a fog, the X-line was revitalized last February with a one-two punch. One first was X-Men Red, a timely and touching book about an X-team fighting back against the tide of hate wrongfully turned in their direction. The other was Rogue & Gambit, a sexy romantic comedy that reunited the preeminent X-couple for a five issue mini that brought joy back to a line that had recently seen two separate forms of genocide back to back. Clearly, a delightful romcom was what we needed.

That delightful mini from Kelly Thompson & Pere Perez reinvigorated a long-dormant romance. There had been no activity on this front for many years, but just five issues got us back to a place where we believed that these two were meant to be together. A short while later, they were hitched and we believed it every step of the way.

Then came Mr & Mrs X, the follow-up series about the continuing adventures of Marvel’s greatest newly-weds. Trying to have a peaceful honeymoon in space, Remy & Marie are drafted into a high stakes game that’ll make your honeymoon seem like a dream. Deadpool, the Starjammers, Technet (?!?), and a whole host of cosmic distractions worm their way into what is supposed to be a few days of peaceful romance.

Enter Oscar Bazaldua on art and you have an absolutely crackling lovers’ adventure on par with Romancing the Stone or whichever is your favorite Indiana Jones. I adore this book and absolutely think it’s a cult classic waiting to happen. So grab Rogue & Gambit if you can and pick up Mr & Mrs X Volume One – Love & Marriage today! Remember, Forbidden Planet is for lovers…
